Hello,

I'm doing some research on PR Mosquitos.

I need information about the following navigators:

Flt.Lt. Donald Pizzey D.F.C
Flt.Lt. Frederick Thayer D.F.C

Can you help ?

Thank you,

Best regards,

Have you tried the London Gazette?

There are entries for Frederick Edward Thayer (151187) and Donald Arthur Pizzey (2601258). The former may be the person you are looking for, but the latter appears to be post war and not the right identification. Can you give a little more detail about what information are you seeking?

Hi Martin16

Here’s some info on Donald Pizzey (1578042) that seems to check out for a PR Mosquito navigator

Looks like he was shot down over Hungary in Mosquito MM287 PRXVI of 680 Squadron on 13.10.44

Check out links below

cheers
Chris

Hi Martin,
I understand you wrote this post quite some time ago but Frederick Thayer was my grandad and I’d be happy to fill you in on what you’d like to know ?

Hi ghod93,

I´m doing some research on PR Mosquitos. One Mosquito carried out a long distance flight to Argentina in 1946. The crew was Flt.Lt. Stanley McCreith (pilot) and Frederick Thayer (Navigator). I need information about your grandfather.
I need to know about his wartime career in the RAF.
Can you help ?
Thank you
Best regards,

Hi again Martin,
Thank you for them photos, me and my mother are touched and amazed! Of course we can give you info, it's so lovely knowing someone is interested in him. I was wondering if I could have your e-mail address as it's easier. Hope to hear from you soon.
