-It was EP-MCF according to pictures on the Flight International website. It was interesting to see a quote from Paul Duffy on the BBC News www site - interesting because Paul sadly died in January 2005.

From Sky News:
Up to 80 people have been killed after a plane caught fire on landing in Iran, according to state TV.
A similar number of survivors were evacuated safely, it has been reported.
The incident took place in Mashhad, in north east Iran.
The fire began after a tire blew out as the aircraft was landing, the television station reported.
The civilian flight, which had 147 passengers on board, originated in Bandar Abbas, in the south of the country.
The plane was a Russian-made TU-154 , operated by Iran Airtour, which is affiliated to Iran's national air carrier
None of the crew members died in the fire.
Mashhad is 620 miles north east of the Iranian capital Tehran.
It is visited by about 12 million pilgrims every year who visit its Shiite Islamic shrines.
