#8? I thought we were only at #7...

Nice little collection, though I always preferred the later marks of P-51, with the bubble canopy.

I got the basic colors from a profile of a Pakistani A-5C Fantan off Wings Palette and went from there, took me about 2 hours. And here,to go with it,is Mexico's newest naval helicopter.

    The photo:

    "Peruan Police EP-830 L-410UVP"

posted by FLEX297, is actually that of a Peruvian Army (Ejercito del Peru) Let 410.

    EP = Ejercito del Peru.
PNP = Policia Nacional del Peru.

    Great photo!

Spurg is right. The registration is military, but they were used mostly by the Romanian Inteligence Service(SRI).
They went back to the Russians....sold as scrap. The helicopters were brand new...I think they had...5-6 years tops and little hours spent in the air.
I have the photo with 102...momentarily I can`t find the CD. Spurg...you`ll have a six pack from me for more photos

Edit: This is "05" wich was based at Alexeni AFB. In the 2nd photo is "05" and in the background "726" based at the same unit. With 726 I flew for the first time in my life some 16 years ago. And the last photo is "03". This is the ex-presidential helicopter belonging to Ceausescu(the president we killed in `89). I flew with this one too. More photos will come....I just need to make`em smaller

that white CL-215 wears civil markings.. note the YV-O-CFO-5 registration..
so it´s a civil machine and it was owned in the eighties by the one of the venezuelan heavy industries... mining corporation of orinoco.

more on Venezuela.... a nice T-2D

That Catalina is extremely intriguing- where did you find the image? I've never heard of the Maldives using the Catalina, but I'll be damned if I know what markings those are. I have an image of a Mil Mi-8 Hip from the Maldives, and the markings are similar. The tail marking on the Catalina is quite unusual, though, because it spans virtually the entire vertical stabilizer. If that Catalina is from the Maldives, it's one of the rarest aircraft images I've ever seen!

Well those civilian CL.215 aren´t in flying condition anymore; currently they rest in peace as wrecks in some southern venezuelan airport.

The venezuelan military don´t have any canadair a/c in their inventory.. but in 2002; a CL-415 was in Venezuela for demostation and several rides with venezuelan military crew were done... the venezuelan military showed hard interest on this machine but the government didn´t buy any...

and about the GN machines... (these pics weren´t taken by me but I can scan additional pics that I have taken if you need..)

The markings lok like those carried by American aircraft during or just after world war one.

Yes, i know the cat is a 30s design, but i daint paint the danm thing lol

But, even so, it's still an extremely unusual image. Where did you find it? The U.S. stopped using that sort of roundel insignia well before the Catalina was even designed. By the time the Catalina went into service, the U.S. marking consisted of a white star on a blue disc with a red dot in the center. Maybe somebody restored one and marked it incorrectly?
