    2010.07.30:
JASDF accident reports for F-2 at Gifu AB on 2010.04.26, and F-2 at Misawa AB on 2010.04.27.

At Gifu, after F-2 landed, landing gear handle was probably at down position, and F-2 stopped when handle was in the middle position of outputting landing gear up signal.
When front pilot started engine, landing gear began to operate up, and F-2 squatted.

At Misawa, when pilot started engine, landing gear was at down position, but landing gear selector valve that toggled landing gear down and up, formed hydraulic path for landing gear up.
Landing gear began to operate up, and F-2 squatted.

    2011.01.19:
Accident cause was human error. Pilot probably mistakenly operated switch of hydraulics system that transmitted control stick motion to rotary wings.
Switch operation is different in UH-1 helicopter new J model and old H model. Accident helicopter was old H model.
During hover, if operated switch, in old H model, caused control trouble. In improved J model, could control.
Pilot probably mistakenly operated switch, could not maintain attitude, and crashed. Pilot did not remember he operated switch or not.

    Yes J-20.
That's what the new fighter is for, Korea and Jap operations. Surprised nobody has mentioned it before.
The J20 is a highly manouverable Strike A/c IMO. As a Fighter, it looks like a Shire Horse in a thoroughbred flat race. If it comes up against some decent Western hardware, it's toast.

    FWIW,
    http://www.nurs.or.jp/~eagle01/profile.htm
is apparently a retired JASDF fighter pilot + retired Mitsubishi test pilot's profile. The table at the bottom of the page, lists his aircraft types and flight times.
    1,817:45 of 8,142:00 hours were with F-104J.

    http://www.nurs.or.jp/~eagle01/104.htm
is apparently a summary of one of his usual days at the office: emergency landing F-104J 46-8651.

    http://www.nurs.or.jp/~eagle01/trarepo.htm
are scans from his three log books, in which he wrote summaries of the many accidents that he survived. At least the summaries have the exact dates and serial numbers. 8b
