    CCF Hurricanes normally have a Packard Merlin 224 or a RR Merlin 29 with a Ham Standard prop and associated reduction gear spline. Perhaps one of the other static aircraft had borrowed it in some way as they are not directly interchangeable for the Dowty item. Looking at the image again enlarged, it may well be an optical trick that I've fallen foul of as the leg shape looks more like a CCF one than a Hawker leg as the shock absorber isn't visible. Perhaps I should wear my glasses more often!

    You realise your friend must have spent time in Spain? Probably Tablada and El Corpero.

    Thank you Septic, I guess you used photoshop to clean up the blue haze. Common problem with old 35mm colour slides. I use FastStone Image viewer (Free) to tidy up the scratches and spots and restore faded colour but it does not fix that annoying blue haze.
    You did it for me. Certainly an improvement!
    The pic I entitled "Pensive Director" on the left is John Jordan Air Unit Camera who earlier had lost a leg while filming from a helicoptor for one on the Bond films. (Skeets Kelly was the other Air Cameraman).
    2nd left is Simpsons Air Services engineer and next Robin who ran the air video recording equipment so the directors could see the rushes in black and white without waiting for John and Skeet's reels to be processed.
    (Not yet colour video recording in 1968)

    Thanks for sharing. I never tire of this movie, or of seeing never before seen images from this epic. And with the 50th anniversary just around the corner, who knows what we might get by way of celebrating the filming of this seminal classic next year. Or on the actual anniversary of the film's release in September 2019.

    If nothing else, these new images are great references for the colour schemes of the aircraft - the film Spits have a very particular "look", compared to service aircraft!

    It's great seeing these images again and very interesting to see the increasingly vibrant (NOT over vibrant) colours emerging out of the blue emulsion overcast on the newly cleaned up images. It seems that Photoshop has been improved over the past 7 or 8 years!

    Well Done Mark on fixing the split slide of Morning Briefing No 2! Capitan Coleardo absent on this one. (Spanish Air Force engineer officer in charge of maintaining Buchon and He111 aircraft - my direct boss while in Spain) By John Blake's side in first briefing photo.

    Thanks Propstrike aircraft colours are improved but the blue haze problem needs fixing. Note the purple concrete paving.

    Septic fixed blue haze perfectly on the San Sebastion slide.

    Sim, Thanks for your generosity in putting these lovely photos 'out there' and allowing distribution and sharing, with proper accreditation of course. Any preference what name/title should be used ?

    There is plenty of scope here for a cracking article in one of the historic aircraft mags, maybe one for the 50th anniversary year, which is almost upon us. I wonder who might run with that !
