    Boscombe's Blower Tunnel no more.

The scrapman today started to remove (non too gently) the Blower Tunnel facility at Boscombe Down.
No more will the sound of its four Merlins have me rushing to the office window in the vain hope of seeing a Lancaster fly overhead.
Here it is in happier times

That's a shame, has someone thought to hang on to the Merlins? They might be of interest to someone...

Be interested to know about the Merlins. What Mk. were they, how were they installed and who get 'em, amongst a few other questions.

When I joined, they had 35+ merlins in store. A mix of 35s, 20s, 200 and 700 series. A few ex Spanish blue ones.
