    Fatality at Bourn 17th Oct 2016

    The small Cambridge airfield was the scene of a GA accident today.

    Two on board, one didn't make it.

    I was flying today too. It's hard to believe that those guys started today with the same excitement and anticipation that I did, yet for them it ended so differently.

    I seem to remember that some versions of the 150/152 had a maximum flap angle of 40 degrees with a caveat never to use this amount other than in circumstances that left no option.

    Some years ago, I remember lurching around the circuit at Popham in a 150 with 40 degrees of flap deployed and unable to change anything because of a fault in the flap system. Barely controllable.

    Correct

    There is some difference between the flaps on the 150 as against the 152.

    Getting it wrong can ruin your day
