The most important aspect of this story is that earlier rumors seems to have been true. Remember that we reported this here as soon as the Jerusalem post released the story.

If we put that in context with the canceled Iran deal, we have here a state of affair (I am completely discarding all the geo-political aspect not to flame this thread) where a tactical weapon system completely overturned a strategic situation* (Iran is now expected to put its money on better IADS and fighters - you don't restart a nuclear program with your major opponents freely skytyping over your head Tu veux ou tu veux pas?).

    * remember the new buzz word: tactical deterrence?

IF and that is a huge IF you believe it... Where did they refuel btw? Because described missions largely exceed range...

Yup, far exceeds even the A2A config.

It's not like a mission over Iran was not in the mind of the IDF's planners from the inception of the Adir program

I did not mean it COULD not do that with proper refueling etcµ. (in fact i do not the heck know if it can). But such a heavy mission for recently comissioned aircraft in an area extemely sensitive and surveyed look highly improbable and risky for no real gain.

Remember that IAF has B707 tankers and has been practicing refueling their F-35s.

The article is beyond silly, Karajrak is North of Tehran and Bandar Abbas is right next the Persian Golf, near Ormuz, there´s a 1000 km´s + distance between them, and there is a 2500 km´s distance between Israel and Bandar Abbas... The IDF AF would have to mount multiple flights, refuel around Baghdad for the Northern targets and over Iran, Kuwait or Saudi Arabia for Bandar Abbas.
Next some Syrian chaps will claim that a S200 shot down a Adir... Its on the exact same level of sillyness

I supose that Saudi Arabia and Iraq will be ok with IDF AF refuelers flying over their air space while refuelling Adirs?

In a surprise move today, XAC at Xi’an Yanliang has shown a new transport plane to the world when it towed a cargo plane smaller than the Y-20 from the Final Assembly Line to the Static Test building west of the airfield.

It looks smaller than Y-20, also the undercarriage fairing is in a different shape.
