Old girl? How double dare you, Sir! A venerable and treasured lady is my preferred term. ;-)

She frequently gets called far worse when being uncooperative...!

Afternoon from a cold wintry Yorkshire. Due to said wintry coldness, little progress has been made on 788 I'm afraid. We have made a start hurling paint stripper at parts of her, with it has to be said limited success

The canopy rail access panels continue to not do what they say, ie allow access to the canopy rails

The port front one is being as awkward as its rear sister was cooperative in fact!

I see a drill, rivets and new captive nuts in its future...
We have also applied paint stripper to a section of the fuselage, as a test piece to start working its way through the however many billion coats of paint blathered on 788 during her career as a gate guard. Simple recipe, wrap in cling film and leave to marinate!

Finally, begging bowl time, has anyone got one of these Rebecca indicators (as podged at by my rather shapely finger in this photo!) lying around unwanted?

One of these will see the rear cockpit of 788 nearly complete, and us a set of happy campers...

Good God, man, you're not camping in the hangar with 788 are you? I know you're keen but that's ridiculous... ;-)

    Graham,
I've got one of those Rebecca indicators somewhere, but I know it's missing the connector on the back. However I don't recognise the rectagular fitting on the front, is that an add-on for a visor?
It's gone into hiding, I need to find it.

The pink stuff doesn’t work too well if it’s cold, and in fact I generally find it quite useless anyway.

Now Dasic, there’s a good paint stripper, but it eats EVERYTHING!

Andy, if you've got it and don't need it we would be very grateful for it!
Mike, no. I may be mad but I'm not that mad!
FB, it's what we have been issued so it's like it or lump it sadly. Trying to make the best of it...

    Hi Blue 2

We've been using the same pink stuff over at Doncaster on our Meteor wing last week, we put in on quite thick left it a few days and it worked well down to bare metal in one application in most area's with just a small amount needing a second coat.Name: photo (4).JPG
