The appearance of the aircraft is changing. The triangle shaped roundel is gone on all aircraft except on the F-5s. The green air force ensign is also gone. The national flag is now on the tailfin and no more on the top of the fin as a stretched band.

Anyone got info on early North Vietnamese roundels/insignia? We, at Asian Air Arms Special Interest Group (SIG) of the International Plastic Modellers' Society, have put together a series of simple decal sheets covering all post-1945 Asian air arms. Printed on White or Clear decal paper, you have to trim them yourself. We're in hot debate over the following Nth Viet AF questions: Did some N. Viet aircraft carry (i) red/over blue flag with a yellow star; (ii) red disc with yellow star; and (iii) yellow star with red border?
Published information strongly implies that these were indeed worn on some occasions, but some of our members refute this.
Any light you can throw on this would be much appreciated.
By the way, take a look at our decal range at https://www.asianairarms.com/decals-aaa

Yes, this is Somalia exactly. This is extra rare image of Somalian Heliopolis Aircraft Works Gomhouria plane of one from six versions existed. 2 such planes were used by Somalian Aeronautical Corps from 1961 up to 1972. Its designation AS-11 reminds similar Italian designations with same form: "2 letters - 2 numbers" (Italy had large influence on Somalia as a former Italian colony).

That Somali Gomhouria is absolutely fantastic- thanks, Gerard! Overall yellow, I presume, and a very sharp scheme at that with the Somali insignia.

Uganda is confusing. Last year on the Mi-24 the roundel with only the head of the bird:

    Hi Boys!

What kind of air force use this Su-22 Fitter? Yemen? Free Syria? ISIS? I think Yemen, but this is not 100%.
Thanks in advance! Click image for larger version.

Not Yemen. The Yemen SU-22 has some sort of symbol below the cockpit
Not ISIS. Isis has a black flag with white circle
Not regular Syria. Syria has the flag on the fixed part of the tailfin

So it might be Free Syria. The flag as a real finflash on the movable part of the fin.

(A large size picture would surely be helpful!!)

Wow! Now that's a real gem. South Yemen!
(Neither ISIS nor Syrian anti-Assad opposition posses an air force).

For comparison: The position of the fin flash matches the one on this South Yemeni MiG-21.

Looks like the aircraft in the image is a French Potez 25, so the roundels are bogus. The Dorand, though, appears to be genuine. It was the only aircraft of this extremely small air force.

Hi, I am searching for photos of Ukrainian aircraft from early 90s with roundels with the outer ring in blue. Anyone?
