    Hi All,
Defence Of The Realm (Via Talking Pictures channel on Sky). Still a good film after all these years IMO.....

    Starring:-Gabriel Byrne,Greta Scacchi,Denholm Elliott,Ian Bannen,Fulton Mackay,Bill Paterson,David Calder,Frederick Treves and Robbie Coltrane.

Dennis Markahm (Ian Bannen) is forced to resign from the British Parliament after he is linked to a woman serving as an East German dignitary. As
reporters Nick Mullen (Gabriel Byrne) and Vernon Bayliss (Denholm Elliott) investigate the case, they discover that there may be more to the incident than
meets the eye, and that a nuclear near-accident at an Air Force base is somehow involved. Markham's secretary, Nina Beckman (Greta Scacchi), agrees to help, but she may know more then she lets on.

    Galaxy Quest

A group of actors from an old sci-fi TV show are recruited by a group of aliens to destroy an oppressive leader, after seeing recordings of their old TV show and becoming convinced they're the real thing.

    Great fun.

I eventually got around to watching Dunkirk this evening.
A lot has already been said about this film, but suffice to say, I thought it was very good.

    6 DAYS
About the events of April 1980 and for anyone old enough it interrupted the snooker.
Maybe its because ive read and watched lots about the Iranian Embassy siege that i found this film an interesting draw.
Rusty firmin was an adviser on the movie hes famously photographed on the ground floor with out his gloves.
The film covers all the important points but doesn't dig deep enough for me,following mainly Rustys section into the action. The sad fact of the assault is the SAS team haven't to this day been awarded for their gallantry for their actions, and sadly some not with us now.

evolving life-form proves far more intelligent and terrifying than anyone could have imagined.

    I thought the same.

The last film I watched was The Train. Burt Lancaster plays a French Resistance fighter trying to stop a train full of looted artworks from making its way to Nazi Germany in 1944.

Really rather good - spectacular setpieces for a film of its age, including a Spitfire strafing attack and a couple of very realistic bombing raids.

It's a comedy western starring Adam Sandler. Funny without being over the top.

Tonight we watched "Bright"......It is a 2017 American urban fantasy action crime film directed by David Ayer and written by Max Landis.
The film stars Will Smith as a Los Angeles Police

That's a couple of hours of my life I'll never get back....One of those films where it's always night time, as well as raining.
I still don't have a clue as to what it was about.

    lovely daughter, Patricia (Sarah Miles).

Mosquito Squadron via (Spike Tv+) Not a patch on 633 Sqn but still enjoyable none the less if your an aviation enthusiast. Even though dated the
flying scenes of the Mosquito are worth the wait of this much missed aircraft in UK skies, not so much the aircraft models used to simulate aircraft
    destruction...

    Starring:-David McCallum,Suzanne Neve,Charles Gray,David Buck,David Dundas,Dinsdale Landen,Nicky Henson,Bryan Marshall Squadron Leader Neale,
Michael Anthony,Peggy Thorpe-Bates,Peter Copley,Vladek Sheybal and Michael McGovern

Great story about an RAF squadron assigned to destroy a German rocket base in Northern France during WW 2. David McCallum has the lead as
Quint Munroe, a pilot who becomes leader of the squadron after the commanding officer, who is his best friend, is killed. Munroe then becomes involved romantically with his friend's wife, and is later forced to lead a mission against a German target where several British POW's are also being held.
Charles Gray,Suzanne Neve,David Buck and Dinsdale Landen are also in the cast.

    Hi All,
Nine Lives (Via Talking Pictures channel on Sky) Classic 1943 war film still watchable even though of it's time if your into the genre.....

    Starring:-Jack Lambert,Gordon Jackson,Frederick Piper,Grant Sutherland,Bill Blewitt,Eric Micklewood,John Varley,Jack Horsman,Richard Wilkinson,
Crawford Giulio Finzi and Fred Griffiths.

In a barrack room at a Battle Training Ground in England, a platoon of conscripts are complaining about blisters and are impatient to get into action with
the enemy. Sergeant Jack Watson tells them that they need a little bit extra to be successful in combat, which he illustrates with a story from his previous
experience in the Western Desert Campaign.

His story is then shown in flashback. Lieutenant Crawford, Sergeant Watson and the seven men under their command are travelling through the Libyan
desert in an Allied convoy, when their lorry becomes stuck in the sand and the convoy moves on without them. They are attacked by German aircraft, injuring Crawford and Johnson and setting fire to the lorry. They come across a derelict hut. Lieutenant Crawford orders them to hold out there until help arrives, but then dies. With only a limited supply of ammunition and their own wits to help them survive, they are then besieged by Italian troops.

    Hi All,
The Way Ahead (Via Talking Pictures channel on Sky) Another classic 1944 war film with early rolls for later household names of stage and screen, still watchable even though of it's time if your into the genre.....

    Starring:-David Niven,Stanley Holloway,James Donald,John Laurie,Leslie Dwyer,Hugh Burden,Jimmy Hanley,William Hartnell,Reginald Tate,Leo Genn,
    John Ruddock,A. Bromley Davenport,Renée Asherson,Mary Jerrold,Tessie O'Shea,Raymond Lovell,A. E. Matthews,Jack Watling,Peter Ustinov as Rispoli,

mentally reluctant, and, when Perry proves to be a strict disciplinarian, they become resentful. Perry persists, however, and is eventually able to instill a
sense of camaraderie in soldiers like Pvts. Ted Brewer (Stanley Holloway) and Evans Lloyd (James Donald). The true test comes when the regiment is sent
to battle the Nazis in North Africa.

    Hi All,
Das Boot-Directors cut (Va the History channel)This 4Hr monster (Dubbed English)passes quite quickly although it has it's quite moments but you can definitely get a claustrophobic feel of a submariner if you can get into the film. I will admit the original in German was the first time I watched it and prefer
that as with the dubbed English it feels a bit fake as at times the dub doesn't match convincingly but on the whole an excellent film to watch.....

    Starring:-Jürgen Prochnow,Herbert Grönemeyer,Klaus Wennemann,Hubertus Bengsch,Martin Semmelrogge,Bernd Tauber,Erwin Leder,Martin May,
    Heinz Hoenig,Uwe Ochsenknecht,Claude-Oliver Rudolph,Jan Fedder,Ralf Richter,Joachim Bernhard,Oliver Stritzel,Konrad Becker,Lutz Schnell,

    Norbert Gronwald,Albert Kraml Jean-Claude Hoffmann,Peter Pathenis,Arno Kral,Christian Seipolt,Helmut Neumeier,Ferdinand Schaal,Wilhelm Pietsch,
Rolf Weber,Dirk Salomon and Lothar Zajicek. (Also a comic appearance from Jeremy Corbyn.....)

A German submarine patrols the Atlantic Ocean during World War II, manned by a crew that must contend with tense conflicts and long stretches of
confined boredom. While war correspondent Werner (Herbert Grönemeyer) observes day-to-day life aboard the U-boat, the grizzled captain
(Jürgen Prochnow) struggles to maintain his own motivation as he attempts to keep the ship's morale up in the face of fierce battles, intense storms and
    dwindling supplies.

    Hi All,
Daz - I remember at the time of it's release it had nothing but positive reviews but in either language or version of which there are four it's still
worth watching by any standard, especially as it's view from the apposing side in the conflict and does show the frustration with Hitler......

Vendetta For The Saint 1969 (Via Talking Pictures channel on Sky) A feature film length episode of The Saint with all the usual Roger Moore shining
knight panache against the villains, if you like the original series like myself you'll like this.....

    Starring:-Roger Moore,Ian Hendry,Rosemary Dexter,Aimi MacDonald,George Pastell,Marie Burke,Finlay Currie,Fulton Mackay(For approx 2mins ).

Simon Templar wages a one-man war against the Mafia in this feature culled from.
