As to your image, Al, whilst it's outside my comfort zone, I'll be brave and hazard a guess - the LTV A-7 Corsair II?

Douglas A3B. The engine on the Pou looks like a Salmson.

    John Aeroclub has it.
It is the left main gear of the Douglas A-3B Skywarrior at the Oakland Aviation Museum.

Avro Avian, sorry, but I'm afraid that I don't have a note of the engine installed in F-PKFV and I haven't been able to find the information on the net. But if you e-mail the museum at Angers Marcé at info@musee-aviation-angers.fr, I'm sure that they can help.

    John...........

Take your word for the venue !!!

Open house, as would not have the faintest clue as to how to make an image of my choosing (and cropped or adulterated) appear on here !!

I took the picture in France in 2007.
The airplane however originates from the U.S.
The observable damage to the prop and the underside of the cowling
was caused by a belly landing the same year.

It is F-AZLL in a hangar at Annemasse in Oct 2007.

I apologize for the fuzziness of the picture due to bad light conditions within the hangar and the reflections from the highly polished skin of the airplane...

    Your turn, pagen01.

    AA...........

Thks for your kind offer. Think it would take a year of weekly tutorials to get me up to anything like speed on posting photos on a forum!!! Have to say I can now attach a photo to an e-mail and most of the time it works, sometimes there are problems with format and size of file.

glad you like tha format variation. More people can play this way, it needn't become a desperate search of "1000 aircraft photos" and the google image search function doesn't find the answer.
Might I suggest that the more common the aircraft, the smaller crop you show?
    OH?

Rather unamusingly that is showing up uncropped in my browser. Hopefully just a cache problem rather than a crop failure.

Just shows you can't please all the people all the time.

I for one am not desperately interested in identifying components of Vulcan toilets........
