Mi-24 intercept Cobra over Czech-German border before 1989
What info do you have on these events?
20 April 1984, two Czech MiG-23 Floggers fire rockets at a U.S. Army, 2nd ACR, AH-1S Cobra. The Cobra had strayed 1,500 meters across the Czech border.
28 September 1985, a Czech L-39 Albatross fired rockets at an U.S. Army AH-1S Cobra on the Czech-West German border, north of Freyung.

He misses but the burst warns US pilot and he quickly runs to 40m flying height and flies away accros the border. MiGs pilots have a lot of problems to get out from mountain terrain and not to cross the border. The fact is that 2mach fighter is not suitable for fight against small helicopter in a mountain terrain in low flying height but the pilots was rebuked for the failure even chief of regiment is talking about both pilots release. General Štorka, chief of 10th Air Army, stands up for the pilots and confirms assertion that a successful fight against small helicopter in low flying height with MiG-21 is impossible, and protecs the pilots from penalty.

ah I see, So LM never have a stake in Aero but Boeing. About Boeing above. At all almost all US companies made only disasters in traditional and old military Czech factories, for example Boeing in Aero or Terex in Tatra. Thanx for God, Boeing was kicked off in 2004 (Czech state paid 2 crowns to Boeing for leaving and had to do recovery plan for Aero).
Dont expect anything good from PENTA. Its financial shark with not always clear activities and it cant see nothing more than profit. I think that PENTA bought Aero mainly because Aero owns test airfield in very lucrative position near Prague.

well Penta is a financial group only, and the chiefs of PENTA said about deliberation about the stop of L159 production a month after the sale. But next month they was talking about support L159 production and selling on the other hand. Anyway Panta must (according to sellinf contract with Czech state) preserve aircraft production in Aero Vodochody, and must preserve support and service for L159 and L-39 up to 2025.

I know only month of the incident - January 1970, Václav Bartoš with MiG-19S (made in Aero Vodochody) got the order to shoot down nonspecified German helicopter. According to later investigation (the info is from www.vrtulnik.cz) Bartoš switch on photocamera but not cannons. After the flight Bartoš said to an investigation commision that the cannons were disfunctional, but during investigation dialog Bartoš burst out that he doesn´t have a look at falling dead people from the helicopter. Commision made the resolution, if Bartoš switch the weapons, the helicopter would be shot down for sure. So Bartoš was kicked off from army, despite he loved flying, and the wonder is that he wasn´t arrested.
I am not sure, but Václav Bartoš is on the picture with high possibility
About Mi-4 and F-102 incident and Mi-24D crash later, I must search some source...

It all depends on the conditions in contract. Anyway, Dospiva (one of the Penta representatives) recently visited Libya and Venezuela, so I think the L-159 sales could be possible as long as ALCA gets rid of anything labeled made in USA. From the very beginning I thought that messing up with US equipment can bring nothing but troubles and expenses.

28 September 1985, a Czech L-39 Albatross fired rockets at an U.S. Army AH-1S Cobra on the Czech-West German border, north of Freyung.

Dont expect anything good from PENTA. Its financial shark with not always clear activities and it cant see nothing more than profit. I think that PENTA bought Aero mainly because Aero owns test airfield in very lucrative position near Prague.

:D
well Penta is a financial group only, and the chiefs of PENTA said about deliberation about the stop of L159 production a month after the sale.

From the very beginning I thought that messing up with US equipment can bring nothing but troubles and expenses.Posts: 438
