Hi fellows!

I've seen alot of various pictures showing interceptions of (atleast in my case) Soviet/Russian patrol planes.
I've figured out I should start a thread where everyone could post pictures from their collection.

I'll go first:

RNoAF F-16A intercepting a Soviet Tu-22M2 Backfire-B:

USAF F-15C intercepting a Soviet Tu-142M Bear-F:

USN F-14 intercepting a Soviet Tu-95KM Bear-C:

Now, go ahead! Post your pics!

PS: It doesnt have to be of Soviet aircraft beeing intercepted, it just that thats what I have on my computer...

Fairford 1993 if memory serves. I went on the Saturday and the Bear didn't fly (Rumour was that the crew was too pissed). Aircraft flew as part of the display on the Sunday.

Nope, Russians / Soviets had more sense than to ever do over flights. (it was much simpler, safer and cheaper to let a KGB spy in the government to do the work for them).

I agree......though I could be biased. The F-4 looks great in the interception/escort role and in flight in general.

More F-4 interception pics!

Maybe some F-5 pics if anyone has them as well......

Anyone notice the "joint" USAF F-4/RAF F-4 intercept picture? I didn't know joint intercepts were ever made? Did those USAF Phantoms come out of Lakenheath?

Old rare colour shot of a soviet Mig-17 Fresco, intercepting Boeing 707/C-135.

USAF F-15 intercepting a rarely seen Tupolev Bear submarine comunications relay aircraft.

Another small correction, is a Tu-95MS "BEAR-H" bomber. This photo appeared in the 1987 edition of "Soviet Military Power", i think.

Not quite sure what happened here. An ex-Yugoslav Air force F-86 flying alongside Il-18.

Sorry it seems a Dc-4/Dc-6 series aircraft. Il-18 engines configuration are different.

Nope, looks like F-4Cs from the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Keflavik, Iceland. My guess is they were doing a switch off from the RAF Phantom and taking over the intercept.

Woops,exactly.My mistake.It is a DC-6 indeed. Il-18 has a different cockpit layout anyways.

Still,i dont know why an F-86 would intercept a civil airlines from the same country.
