Hurricane Katrina: Singapore Chinooks

The Republic of Singapore Air Force has sent four CH-47 Chinooks and 45 pilots, air crew and maintenance personnel for hurricane relief duty in Louisiana. The four Chinooks are from the RSAF's Peace Prairie training detachment in Grand Prairie, Texas.

They train with the Texas Army National Guard.

Here are some photos of RSAF Chinooks, which serve alongside US relief teams in New Orleans:

Ch-47Ds?

Funny? I thought Singapour Air Force uses the CH-47SDs. But the pics (esp the lowest pic) is showing the Ds version w/o the large fuel tanks that is associated with the SDs.

Or are they using just the D versions in the US?
