Not yet. Trying. Nothing will come from Dassault for obvious reasons.

IAF Rafale RB004 on the assembly line

          Twitter link

I don't believe that Dassault would not release any images of the first Rafale for the IAF. They have released this image of RB004 on the assembly line. If they have become averse to PR all of a sudden due to the political skullduggery of the Congress party in India, that would be a shame.

There was a picture in one of the Fr media illustrating the beginning of test flight in the Sth-East of France . Sadly, I can't find the link anywhere for now.

Dassault just bugged out of the RCAF competition.

In fact, not Dassault but french Gov (DGA) due to 2/5eyes agreements and MDFs confidentiality.

In the meanwhile, next gen mica is officially launched. Deliveries 2026. New IR matrix, AESA, longer range, dual boost.

@black Archer, first Indian Rafale, RB008 is already flying after a one month delay (it was scheduled in septembre) RB is for Rafale Bharat.

Who said it was the French Gov that made the decision?

If 5 Eyes is a disqualifier then France would never be able to sell complex weapon systems to 5 Eyes nations. Since they do sell them, then I would say that the requirement was an excuse to save face.

                          Trust me on that one.

Oh and F3R standard was officially accepted yesterday by DGA.

So it can be sold to Qatar and India but cryptography issues prevent it being sold to core NATO allies??

Care to elaborate because on its own that statement makes no sense.

Regarding the launch of MICA NG dev stated for service entry in 2025:

                                  ------------------------------

MBDA had to put their hands in the pocket for the launch of MICA NG. Because the ministry wants the industry to pay their share to weapons programs when those are deemed exportable during the definition of the program. "It is not normal that the state does not benefit from more advantageous prices, when the export hypotheses become a reality, explained Florence Parly last July. This must change, and we will inaugurate this new approach with the launch of the MICA NG program at the end of this month of July ". Clearly, the Ministry of the Armed Forces now wants a "state benefit" in "a logic of royalty" as part of its support to the defense industry. MICA missiles have been exported to 14 countries around the world
Anyone has the number for the "share" invested by MBDA?

@St John You can't get it, that's the point. Either you know what makes NORAD specific, or you don't. There's no need to elaborate further.

That seems like a non-answer. I'm sure lots of people are confused about why the aircraft can be sold to Qatar and India but not Canada. AFAIK, NORAD is the basically a command centre linked to a series of radars like BMEWS, Cobra Dane, PARCS, PAVE PAWS and the NWS.
