How do these aircraft compare to each other? and to more popular aircraft like F-16 or Mig-29?

Not much to say - the Tejas & JF-17 are very similar aircraft. Similar size, similar payload, similar avionics, similar flight characteristics with the comparison holding even as they evolve (Blk 3 ~ Mk1A).

The J-10 is considerably larger - a Rafale/F-16E class fighter, though somewhat under-powered in comparison.

Total combat effectiveness:
J-20 - 1.28
J-31 - 1.3
J-10 - 0.85
FC-1 - 0.88

If FC-1 is better then why did China buy J-10 only?

And if J-20 is only 0.43 more "combat effective" than a J-10, then why bother developing J-20 in the first place... or if FC-31 (not J-31) is more combat effective than J-20 then why has the PLAAF still not adopted an FC-31 variant for themselves?

But I think paralay's just kidding...

The difference is not essential. The ability of a pilot in this system is 0.05 - 0.15
The J-10 is unified in the engine with J-11, so they chose him

Do I have to play the role of F-18 Hamburger here? Obviously these are just fantasy numbers.

Just for kicks, I'd be interested in seeing your relative comparison, of say Flanker family vs Fulcrum family, and say, F-15 variants vs F-16 variants vs F-22 and F-35 :eagerness:

J-10 is a Rafale made in China
Fc-1 = Chinese F-16 Block 50/52
LCA is Mirage 2000 made in India

J-10 shouldn't be in the list. It is more of a medium fighter.

Better comparison would be Gripen Vs Tejas Vs JF-17 Vs FA-50

What a stupid calculation. Maybe you also add the age of the pilot minus it's number of kids added by a factor of how many aircraft build the factory divided by the ambient air temperature on December 24th. :applause:

Regarding the comparison I proposed "Gripen Vs Tejas Vs JF-17 Vs FA-50", hands down I'd go with the Gripen. AAM alone it can carry AIM-120, Iris-T Meteor and the South African version can carry A-Darter. When it comes agility at least at airshows (with the exception of the classic Su-27) it has one of the tightest minimum-radius turns I've seen.

@paralay

It is not that I know a better one, but how this an undefinined item like "corner of forward edge of wing" or "nozzle rotation angle" is relevant to this comparison??

Some people prefer wrong information instead of no information.
