To be realistic, it is unlikely that the forum's moderators would have the time needed to perform such a 'weeding' operation. It is not just a matter of deleting the offending postings, since their contents may well be referred to in responses that contain useful information that could usefully be kept.

But we are currently in the position that despite its importance as a programme, the Su-57 thread has been deleted. The Su-57 is not only not currently a subject for discussion, but the work that some forum members put into trying to understand this aircraft is no longer available for the rest of us to read or download.

And not only is there no active thread on this forum covering this important new fighter, there is also none on the most significant current Russian combat deployment its operations in Syria.

Russian MoD show wreckages of shot down NATO missiles. Holes from air defense missiles warhead fragments could be clearly seen.

I do appreciate how the MODS allow for relative self-moderation among posters, but their solution when eventually fed up to completely delete interesting threads is unfortunate.

At the end of the day though, they don't ban easily, so people only have themselves to blame for jackassery. We can continue posting the relevant stuff in this thread, but people really need to keep severely off topic discussions away and avoid ****ty agenda posting and baiting.

Agree - most of all it would have been nice to have a warning issued (so there would have been a chance to steer the discussion back on course) beforehand, rather than simply having the thread deleted seemingly "out of the blue".

They should simply ban buying foreign types via tarrifs in 100 and 75 seater class and buy SSJ.

SSJ Russian component to be increased to 60 % for SSJR for Iran https://bmpd.livejournal.com/3173223.html

So the PAK-FA thread again disappeared without a trace, nor an explanation as to why?

It's kind of annoying, to be frank. Barring the occasional tirades, it's usually a good resource. Each time it disappears like this, it becomes a huuuuuuge drag to dig up certain pieces of information that one got used to being able to find therein.

Honestly, even though some discussions in that thread were getting kind of "old" and pointless, they weren't particularly agitated or breaking any obvious forum rules as far as I could see. I tend to just ignore the WoT's anyway, and mostly focus on the posts of a few members who usually deliver quality stuff.

As many of you have already written above, it would certainly be nice with some kind of explanation from the moderator(s). I mean, if there is something in particular that kicks off this mystical disappearance act each time, knowing how to avoid it would be totally swell.

                            Yes, that is new.

Also new pictures of Korsar and a helicopter drone emerge.
There appears to be two versions of the helicopter drone. The one with a hole on the nose looks a lot like the one from the VDV event a year ago.

Korsar was supposed to go into production in the early part of 2017, but I never saw any news last year confirming that it had happened. Could be that it is just entering production now. Last November new kind of drone footage started appearing from Syria, which I suspect Korsar is the leading canditate for. It appeared to be directing guided artillery projectiles (Krasnopol). Korsar was also shown in December to Putin with weapons next to it, but whether it can actually launch them I am not so sure about. Korsar should roughly be the Russian counterpart for RQ-7 Shadow and it is also the biggest all Russian new drone to be completed, although many others are coming (like Inokhodets, Altius and Zenitsa). It was reported that the initial production should be 20-25 per year and then later with a new factory up to 100. Though I am not so sure that Russian demand would require that kind of production.

EDIT: Derp, just noticed there are two seperate drone helos, one is the same as seen in that VDV ceremony last year.

People, maybe many of you will disagree with me but did we really need to keep a separate thread for Su-57?
That was surely justified when development programme was still unfolding and so there will be a whole lot of discussion about its final outcome.
Even the last thread suffered badly from a relative but noticed by many. lack of fresh and reliable information about the program in itself, now we are at the brink of the start of its own serial production, so why not to treat it as just another plane between the many that RuAF are actually putting into service?

Sure, it would be without any doubt the most important of all them, but the overall situation of russian planes acquisition is not the same of the west with the F-35 taking all the stage time with instead an " USAF non F-35 thread" sadly made mostly of vaporware about new futuristic programmes to be finalized well ahead of the new decade and news about updates of planes made mostly during the two Reagan's presidencies.

                                  Your question is kinda moot.
The Su-57 thread is gone eighter way.

And on the flip side there are other dedicated threads like USAF(not F-35) thread... and F-35 Thread.

By all means, lets turn Keypub forum into F-16.net stance.
Lets delete all Russian related threads and ban most of its members. How about that?
                                  Thanks

for the record, as someone who doesn't follow RuAF and Su-57 developments as closely as others do, having one thread for general RuAF developments and one exclusive for Su-57 was pretty useful...

The silver lining for the removal of the PAK-FA thread is that the new thread can now be called Su-57. And if people need a reason for having a separate thread, they should join a different forum!

@medo and @meosphere in case there is any doubts with people still believing not a single tomahawk was intercepted. https://www.quora.com/Who-is-lying-l...r/Roan-Dempsey

Specifically look at his damage site evaluation argument. That had my mind blown. Or does anyone have a better argument on why he is wrong than I would love to hear it.
