ok. Yeah, they seem to be working on it, while the T/R modules so far on the Russian AESA are GaAS. I am curious were they are at with such technology seeing as they are wanting to pump out more wattage and reduce heat + reduce overall size.

I am intrigued what they plan for ROFAR too, and where they are at that. I know Rostec has put much emphasis on it. Wonder how it will work the whole thing?

How big/heavy are these Kh-38? Warhead etc

I imagine Su-34 could carry 5 of them. But can Flankers do the same?
      Su-34 is a Flanker.

      But yes, easily:

Replace each Kab-1500 with a Kh-38, and under the nacelles.

@TR1, Do you have the specs sheet of the Kh-38ME? If so, can you post it ?

Does anyone have the specs of the NPK SPP T220 pod?

about all of that GaAs GaN stuff, later models made in russia seem to be using flat plannar modules instead of the "finger sized tiles" used on APG77 and APG81.
            what's the benefit ?

Some reading on Tile & Brick (aka Slat) AESA modules.

Basically, Tile is smaller & cheaper but Brick arrays are easier to cool thereby allowing greater power levels.

                TR1 said... Su-34 is a Flanker.
                Not really ..... It's a FULLBACK !!!

It is a Flanker derivative - but its reporting name is Fullback - not Flanker.

                Just being picky.....

Is that from PiBu's book? Worth it? Anything really new over Russianweb sourced stuff, or just a nice new format?

Yes that is from PiBu book and if you ask me yes its worth buying the Air Launched Missile one.

PiBu has two other books on RuAF but not sure how that is

It sure does look fresh painted indeed.. is that part RAM coating in some places like on front Ventral strakes and Horisontal Rudders?

                                  Edit:
Most likely heat resistance layer of paint..

BM2 and BM3 are one-offs for now? Substantial differences between the two?
