So what I want from you guys is a supersonic UCAV which can perform like the SU35 but at speed.

That tumble (or the instant recovery from it) is astounding.

Wouldn't be a surprise - that config has been shown on models at UAC airshow booths for years.

They've had MERs for all kinds of ordnance for ages, but as far as I recall, among AAMs it's only been the little R-60 with a twin pylon occasionally seen on MiGs (23 and 25/31). I always found that kind of curious.

Sukhoi/KnAAPOs old Su-35 presentation showed these centerline twin pylons for the R-77/RVV-AE back in 2011 or some such, here (page 14, loadout examples):
                      http://www.knaapo.ru/media/rus/about...buklet_rus.pdf

But as far as I know, this is the first time it's ever been seen in real life. About time if you ask me!

Still on the topic of MAKS, tomorrow is the first public day, right? So there should be lots of photos and videos coming up next.

Chemezov spoke about the work on a high-power aircraft engine PD-35

                          https://vpk.name/news/187159_chemezo...ntent=do187159

The engine PD-35 will appear in the finished form and will be put on test not earlier than 2020. Sergei Chemezov, the head of state corporation Rostek, said this at a press conference at MAKS-2017 airshow, as the correspondent of Lentee.ru reports.

Earlier, in November 2016, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov announced that the PD-35 will have a nominal thrust of at least 33 tons and a maximum thrust of 40 tons.

PD-35 from the summer of 2016 is created by cooperation from Perm Aviadvigatel JSC and Rybinsk NPO Saturn. The engine is expected to be used on wide-body passenger airliners, in particular on a Russian-Chinese aircraft created under the project of the ShFDMS (C929).

The volume of investments in the project of the engine is 180 billion rubles in calculation for six years. About a third of them will be spent on the construction of test benches and laboratories.

.... and the staggered mounting - the RH R-77 is mounted further forward to clear the fins - and presumably, has to be fired first?

They are catapulted downwards, so I'm not sure if a specific firing order is absolutely necessary, but if so, IMHO the order would be the exact opposite - the rear one would be dropped first so that any potential translation backwards during the release doesn't clip the flight controls of the other missile.

Would be cool to see the Flanker in a full "missile truck" configuration, loaded to the max with 16xRVV-AE plus 2x wingtip RVV-MD. Just saying.

Great weapons load of Su-35 with its AAMs, ECM pods, targeting pod, Anti-ship missiles and TV guided bombs. I hope we will also see Su-30SM equipped with new ECM pods, targeting pod and R-77-1 missiles.
