-Sri Lanka is under tremendous pressure from India not to buy JF17. They have even been offered financial support to buy any other fighter.

-Chinese/Pakistani aircraft, probably needing Chinese/Pakistani support, in Sri Lanka? Need you ask? Think about Ireland during the Cold War considering buying fighters from the USSR, complete with Soviet technicians, trainers, etc., & what the British government would have thought of it.
