Way, way back when the originator of these threads (I believe his name is giannini) first posted a request for pictures of aircraft from small air forces, I imagine he had not the slightest clue what an incredible collection of images would result from it. I have had such fun reading my way through all of the pictures everybody has posted. These threads have truly given me great joy, and have added tremendously to my life. I would like to personally thank every single person who has contributed. I used to think I was alone in my interest, but I soon found out that I was quite mistaken! Let's just keep it going, everybody!

False rumor, that Mi-28 is not Iraqi.

Also man, that fuselage is ugly as sin from that angle.

Guys do you realize that we should be celebrating 10th or 11th anniversary of Small Air Forces threads this year? Glanini launched the first one back in 2003 or 2004 IIRC. Central African Mi-24 represents best what these threads should be about. Enjoy! And thank you all for keeping this discussion alive.

Thanks for the fantastic find, Starsign! And, yes- it was Glanini who started all this wonderful stuff! Again, I really appreciate everybody's contributions. I have found some incredible images as I have read my way through these threads. I've been an airplane fanatic since I saw a USAF C-47 fly over my house, while I at four years-old was sitting on my grandmother's lap in my back yard. These threads are a fantastic and valuable historical compilation, and I am certain that they have been a source of true amazement and wonder for many, many people besides me. Let's make this the longest-running series of threads in the history of the internet! Happy anniversary, everybody!

I agree- it looks like a mutated insect. This chopper hasn't been used by many countries, has it? Wonder why?

Didn't Iraq order the type last year or the year before? Also, Kenya is reported to have acquired the type. I haven't seen any pics of that...

Same Mi-8 and Mi-24 (but yours are in better conditions).
It seems that, on your Mi-24 post as on mine, the Yak-B and the front part of the KPS-53A are missing.
