And with 10 Mi-17s and 1 Beechcraft 1900 it's actually better equipped than a lot of European micro-airforces.

                Classic bird and nice photos!

Didn't someone comment that the Malaysians are finding out their fancy new A-109s are nowhere near as rugged as the old Alouette? The SA315B Lama derivative (Alouette III systems on Alouette II airfram) is one fine piece of engineering and a great chopper if you want to fly hot and/or high.

I completely agree with you. Belgian Alouette III are in active duties since 1971.

Even if I must admit that I'm a big fan of the good looking shapes of the A109 (here in Malaysian colors) :

I don't think the European micro-countries even have mini air forces....

The Dutch air force is still using 4 of them.

PS : The picture in Wiki is former Rhodesian Air Force De Havilland DH-115 Vampire T.11, VH-ZVZ / 15392, owned and operated by Judy Pay (private collection).
It is representing RRAF119. It is not the originally delivered SRAF119 / RRAF119 / R4032. The original aircraft ended up in South Africa in 1980 but has not been, apparently, preserved.
