In the end of 2012 we have seen several new deals between the Russian Mod, VVS and its military Aviation Manufactors.
Here are a few:
Current deals on IAPO Su-30SM, 60 units.
Current deals on NAPO Su-34, 140 units
Current deals on KnAAPO Su-35S, 48 units. With follows-up orders planned.

Lots of upgrade as well.
Mig-31BM upgrade, around 30-40 units delivered.
A-50U upgrade, 3rd delivered.

Strategic bombers.
Tu-95MSM upgrade.
And a few Tu-22M3 upgrade.

New Helis, Mi-8, Ka-52, Mi-28 deliveries seems to be doing very well.

There is no contract for 140 Su-34, though the number is ordered is likely to be increased to that number.
I would imagine the follow on 48 Su-35s (96 total ) will be finished within a similar timeframe.
Also I think follow on Su-30SM orders are likely, possible for VMF as well.
Irkut has the production capacity readied.

This year alone the RuAF got 7 Mi-26s from Rostvertol.
In 2012 Rostvertol is producing 52 Mi-26s + Mi-24 + Mi-28.
Helicopters have been the biggest quantity in RuAF deliveries for several years now, and that looks to continue.
Potentially more exciting news is the VK-2500 being completely indigenized by Klimov, another step in reducing the imported number of Motor-Sich engines.

Transport Aviation is getting some clarity on future as well, with An-70 finally coming out of the woods, Il-476 in production, and An-140 gaining steam.

Long feature on Russian TV1 on Midas (with multiple hose-drogue pods) training with MiG-31 and Su-34. Had the reporter sit in the rear gunner station and film it.

Potentially more exciting news is the VK-2500 being completely indigenized by Klimov, another step in reducing the imported number of Motor-Sich engines.

Has the Ukrainian government put any pressure to protect Motor-Sich? Ukraine still produces many components for missiles and strategic troops.

I am surprised that there isn't any contract for MiG-35 (yet).

Wasn't there 15 units, and then a follow up order on 96 units, reaching a total over 120 units Su-34?

I think there are two Su-34 contracts, one for 32, and the latest one for 92, total ordered to date 124.

Do anyone have anything solid on new build Su-25BM procurment?

Also, i think we can expect about 80-100 Mig-31 to be upgraded into BM version.
But this depends on the flying hours and overall life left in the Mig-31 fleet.
They may have to simply scrap several airframes in a few years..

State trials of five 5th generation fighters to begin in Akhtubinsk March 2013

THE SETTLEMENT ZARYA (Moscow region), December 23 (Itar-Tass) —— The state trials of five 5th generation fighters (advanced airborne complex of the frontline aviation) will begin at a base of the flight experimental centre in Akhtubinsk in March 2013, Chief Commander of the Russian Air Force Lieut. Gen. Viktor Bondarev told reporters on Sunday. The Long-Range Aviation of the Russian Air Force marks its 98th anniversary on December 23.

“The airplanes of the prospective airborne complex of the frontline aviation are performing successfully the program of flight trials. Three fighters are taking the trials at the airfield in the Moscow regional town Zhukovsky, the fourth pilot fighter is being tested at the plant, the fifth fighter is about to be turned out and is passing the acceptance inspection. In March these five fighters will arrive in Akhtubinsk, where their state flight trials will begin. All other fighters will be dispatched there directly from the plant. By the end of 2013 eight prospective fighters T-50 will be accepted in Akhtubinsk,” Viktor Bondarev said.

The trials of the advanced fighters will end within 2-2.5 years, the chief commander of the Russian Air Force said. In 2015 or the beginning of 2016 the construction of the fighters T-50 will become serial, the fighters will be put into service of the aviation formations.

Viktor Bondarev noted that the program of the trials envisages all required tests of the features of the fighter, its avionics and weaponry.

The commander also noted that that the design works to develop a strategic missile-carrying bomber of new generation (advanced airborne complex of long-range aviation) will end by 2017-2018.

“Much work has been done to develop the advanced airborne complex of long-range aviation. The warplane is very serious and will ensure security of the country for many years to come, there we cannot make any errors. I believe that before 2017-2018 we will complete the creation of an advanced bomber and it will be ready for serial production,” Viktor Bondarev said.

The commander noted that a prospective warplane is being developed with the use of the stealth technology and new types of aviation weaponry. “The warplane should resolve additional tasks, which were not envisaged for Tu-95 and Tu-160. According to its features it will outpace all current foreign counterparts,” the general said. He also added that the long-range aviation is working to extend the service life of long-range missile-carrying bombers Tu-160.

“The long-range warplanes will be modernized. Now two bombers Tu-160 are at the plant. One of them is already passing an acceptance inspection after modernization, the second one is about to be turned out in the first quarter of the next year. The deliveries of next strategic warplanes are being made at the plant for modernization,” Viktor Bondarev said.

Five Su-34s delivered today to Voronezh. Sukhoi edited the borts out! :eek:

Or it is all simple, they are just not added yet. ;) Check EXIF. Either way, b/n delivered are 11,12,20,21,22.

Seems the Hellduck deliveries slowly but surely have started to pick up phase.

Have any active duty (combat) regiments/squadroons been formed yet? Or are they all still assigned to testing/evaluation units?

What does a "normal" week for the Su-34 sqdroons look like? Lots and lots of training I guess? But any air patrolling missions yet (armed or unarmed)?

AND OF COURSE, the most important question of them all: Why did RuAF drop the old psycadelic baby-blue pattern? Someone finally had enough? Or was it Sukhois decission? :)

These will form the second squadron.

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted here before. In Q1 2013 the Kremlin is set to seal a massive new $8.6 billion contract with UAC for 105 "people movers" for various power ministries including the VVS. This contract should pretty much revive Russian commercial aviation all by itself.

$600 million of the total $8.6 billion will go to Antonov in Ukraine in the form of royalties in connection with design and patents they own as part of the An-148 program, but all the rest remains in Russia to further strengthen the "unbreakable Soviet industrial machine."

This contract only concerns 105 new built "people movers." Additional contracts for specialized aircraft like refuelers and ELINT jets for the MoD are planned.

The MoD will get -- 39 An-148's, 2 Tu-214's, 11 Tu-204SM's.

The Presidential administration, which is charged with ferrying about VIP's will get -- 6 An-148's, 6 Tu-214's, 8 Il-96-300's, and 1 Tu-204-300.

The FSB will get -- 4 An-148's, 2 Tu-214's, 1 Il-476, and 2 Tu-204-300's.

The MVD will get -- 6 An-148's 2 Tu-204SM's, and 2 SSJ's.

The Ministry of Emergencies (commie FEMA) will get -- 2 An-148's, 4 Il-476's and 1 Tu-204-300.

Roscosmos will get -- 3 Tu-214's, and 3 SSJ's.
