Tanzania. A new roundel or just a unit/squadron marking?

        Hello,

I have seen somewhere drawings of an Italian WW2 era roundel with the outer, black ring splitted (like a dotted line). Do you have seen it already? Do you have photographs of aircraft sporting this variant?

        Regards,

        PEB

          Hello,

Here are five unusual variants of Regia Aeronautica markings. All are coming from Tauro model decals, NOT from photographs.

48.b was seen on an IMAM Ro.37 bis in 1938.
48.c was an alternate wing markings on some Caproni Ca 311 aircraft.
48.d and 48.e use is unknown.
48.f is seen on the top wings of several marks of Bf 109 fighters in 1943.

          Any photograph illustrating these markings?

          Regards,

          PEB

PEB, I have seen the Spanish Veloz, and wonder if it indeed wore the standard red-yellow-red or red-yellow-purple markings. The old photographic emulsion may have made them look all the same color...

Also, the Chinese T-6 is indeed civilian. I am trying to track down some info on it, but I do remember that it belonged to some civil service organization, and was photographed getting ready to deliver a shipment of vaccine to some remote area...

Yes, I agree there is a doubt regarding the roundel. As a matter of fact there is absolutely no contrast inside the disc, so we could assume it is only one color. On the other hand, on the left wing, one can imagine a lighter color inside the disc...
Impossible to tell for sure without another picture!
