-Is it 64 or 611 Squadron
Hello
This is just a guess but i think the person 4th from left middle row could be Michael Terry Wainwright of 64 Squadron.

-Im fairly sure it's 64 squadron. Not because I know anyone except the third person front row which is Arne Austeen, but because it fits with his service record and everything that this is indeed 64 squadron.

-Must be 64 Sqn as the Spitfire pilot and his dog thread show 611 Qdn with a variety of ahem "less well bred" dogs, although a GSD would have had a tough time finding a home in Civvy St.!! (or had they started calling them "Alsaciennes" by then?)

I've only just joined and I can, being his eldest son, definitely say this is not my father. I certainly don't know whether it's 64 or 611.

-My father
Yes Mark...it is my father. As a matter of interest my brother, also Mark, is meeting our father at the RAF Club this evening and is taking a copy of the photo of the squadron that is on the site. He will certainly know whether it's 64 or 611. Are you able to give me your email address? Would love to have a longer chat. Even better do you have skype?

-Odd. Arne Austeen stands out, but I'm pretty certain Dennis Crowley Milling and Wilfrid Duncan-Smith are sat in the front row, too.

-Hmm whatever Squadron it is, it must be after 1940 as several pilots are wearing battle dress jackets which i`m certain was introduced after 1940. Also none of the pilots in the front row resemble Dennis Crowley Milling to me.

It's thought to be 64 squadron, based on Austeens flying career. I don't think the author of that website is 100% sure! :D If Duncan-Smith is in the picture, I can say with 99.9% certainty it IS 64 squadron, as it was the only squadron Austeen and Smith flew together in.
