    Wow!
What a project, nice to see for me, living in proper Halibag Country (East Yorks.)! Keep posting updates and keep up the great work; I'll be following this one

Halifax nuts - have you seen the thread recently posted by Scotavia with a link to "Sandy Air Corps"??
They have a section on a Halifax - one photo shows a sustantial rear end but I think the photo is B&W and may therefore be old. Go to

But in the (hopefully unlikely) event of moving out it can be

It will come apart in large sections that will go through the doors,

i guess that rules out cockpit fest then!

                Hi Martin,

Not from a Halifax. The radio operators seat is tubular
with leather upholstry, a pic of one was posted a few days ago on this
                forum.
                Cheers

                        Hi Dave,

Your lurking days are over now I gather

Welcome to the forum, join the madness present here and enjoy.

Thanks for the tip, that WOP seat looks absolutely fantastic and is complete with it's covering. I have one too but it lacks the leather upholstry unfortunately and is just the bare frame.

These seats have a habit of turning up every now and then. The green leather looks to me as used in the HP Hastings in which the WOP seat was identical apart from a headrest but it seems that there is no sign here of any fittings. IMHO the wartime Hally's had black upholstry but I am not sure about that.

Hope that seat gets a good home but the price would be a bit steep.

                        Cheers
                        Cees

Now that you've nearly finished the Halibag, you'll be looking for another project, fancy helping out with the Stirling? :diablo:

                                      John,

Better then to ask Lex my sheetmetalworking friend to emigrate to the UK then. I wouldn't mind though.
This is a once in a lifetime project......
