            Hi Martin,

In that panel the fire exthinghuisher buttons are fitted just as the
brass switch and a morse key. I have everything needed but the fire exthinghuishers I have are of the later type with the sliding bit with
the coloured lenses but they have a habit of falling out. The ones
needed do have the solid knobs but these I cannot seem to find.

                    Hi there,

Another days work in the workshop. Work has been ongoing on the trimming controls and the chain that goes from the aileronunit underneath a duct and through frame 7. It all looks very much the part. After this the skinpanel has been re-placed and popriveted with all the stringers as well. The skinning is now finished.
Nex job is fitting of the autopilot panel that is near the pilot's left knee, that may take some time to get that right.
Here are some pics of the trimming controls as well as some structural details.

                    Cheers

                    Cees

That is as far as it will go. From frame 7, the pilot's bulkhead towards frame 4.

When at first conceived, the project would have included the flight engineers compartment to frame 10, that's where the flight engineers panels fit onto, as well as a seperate wireless operators position due to the 9 foot height of this area.

I had all the bits, instruments, radio's seats etc. to complety fit these compartment out but when the project was evicted from the first workshop space was a problem and those bits were sold on. Ross McNeil acquired the flight engineers panels, so they went to a good home.

                              Cheers

                                    Time for an update,

Today we spent the whole day fitting the fittings to the portside where the fittings needed to be fitted, still with me?

In the pics you can see the beam approach items, fire extinguisher console, bail out horn, autopilot gimmicks, channel selector IFF destruction panel as well as the starter button panel that has now been fitted. Also a pic of the oxygen economiser that has been fitted in front of the instrument panel and the oxygen selector that has now found it's place in the instrument panel itself. The whole bunch is just fitted to make sure that every fits and after that will all be taken out for painting, this thing is rapidly filling up.

Also a pic of the quarter window panel with the rubber knob I got from Elliott all those years ago, it was not wasted Elliott, thanks again for your help.

                                    Hope you like it.
                                    Cheers
