After seeing the lovely Auster VX927 land today I wandered over to take a photo, and ended up having a quick look round the other aircraft and the Lightning boys QRA hangar, thought i'd share the photos for anyone interested.

No worries mate, good to see the QRA hangar up close, looks stunning with the two Lightnings in there. Certainly noisy, was on the verge of putting my fingers in my ears all the way at the SRA!

Rob,
Was a pleasant surprise to meet you at Bruntingthorpe today. Thank you for the kind words about the Auster. I really like to photo you've posted on the Victor and Auster. Very nice!

Great photos, I am even keener now to visit.

There is a chance I might be able to persuade a friend with a Luscombe to fly in to Bruntingthorpe this year. What are the rules regarding flying in?

Hi, easy one (ish ;)) just drop me a PM when you plan to fly in, give me a few days notice and I will tee it up, and give you the 'gen';)

Normally a call to the gate house is whats called for, but as the track is constantly in use, landng on it is not always possible, even the grass strip is in the middle of the track 'circit' and when its live you shouldnt really be wandering across it, so special arrangments need to be made, VX927 has found out all about that ;)

Just PM me ;)

Not until the sale is agreed as it's being negotiated at the moment, but i believe it is going to be rebuilt as a fully equipped cockpit (unlike the other 2 which are getting blown up for a movie) as the current owner has amassed a few spares for it already

but as with a lot of brunty stuff, rumour is a plenty and not always what ends up happning

I was going to say, I hope not, I'm trying to sort out a deal for one of them, with a VC-10 section travelling in the opposite direction.
