I took these at Eastleigh in 1965 when KJ955 was with the Middle east Communications Flt at Khormaksar, Aden. I think it may have been the last Dakota in RAF service which was still used in the transport role. Two questions, was it? and does anyone know what happened to it after it retired from RAF service? (p.s. this is not a quiz question, I'd really like to know).

Very nice photos. No, this was not the last Dakota in RAF service in the transport role. This honour went to KN645, which was still in use at Northolt up until 1968, and appeared in the static display at the fantastic jubilee display at Abingdon in June that year.

Those pics are gorgeous. Makes you wonder if the Daks had stayed on longer they would be more reliable than most of the fault ridden stuff we have today.
