I caught sight of a picture of the Angel of the North again the other day, and was reminded of something that's always seemed a bit odd to me. It's "wings" always seem to look a bit like Me 109 wings - obviously scaled up a tad :), but the shape is very similar. Just seems a bit strange. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just imagining things?

Spitfires over Birmingham

Just to go off at a bit of a tangent, something you all realise I'm good at by now, has anyone seen the sculpture of three Spitfires mounted above the traffic island at Castle Bromwich?

I'm not much of a one for modern art but I find this to be quite spectacular. (Also gives you something to look at while stuck in traffic on the Chester Road.) It seems very fitting as the Castle Bromwich factory ran along the length of the road and is now occupied by the housing estate of Castle Vale.
