-The Auster G-AIPR is a J/4 owned at the time by the Yorkshire Flying Club at Yeadon. The Piper in the background is Tri-Pacer 150 G-ARBU which crashed in the Leiza Navarre Mountains in Spain 19.5.68.

-The Lockheed T-33A "536" behind the Jet Provost is 70536 of the 48thTFW Lakenheath. It was sold to the Saudi Arabian AF 4.60 as "1506".
The Hunter is an F.6 XG238 of No 92 Squadron. It crashed into the sea off Cyprus 5.5.61 so not sure about the date of the BoB show could it have been earlier as the T-33 was sold in 1960.
My reckoning is September 1959 ?

-Treble One Sqn did not receive its first Lightnings until April 1961. So, 1961 seems about right.

-The HP Victor in the background appears to have a serial number in the XL 18? or 19? range, which would make it very new at that time. So new, in fact, I suspect the picture may be later than stated (but I'm willing to be corrected on that as I have limited reference material). Also the tail of the Valiant appears to be peeping out behind the Vic - I don't suppose you've got a shot of the two of them together?

You can see it is a B2 indicated by the RAT intakes, stubwing and the fin extension intake. I keep staring at the photo and I think I see a 1 at the end which would make it XL191.

The Victor seems to be XL 191 of 55 Sqn which crash landed at Mt.Hope (Hamilton) Ontario,in June 1986 & was later scrapped. The cockpit section is thought to still exist.
No photos of Victor & Valiant together.
I have more MSG photos in the loft will try & find them!

-Have just seen these!
Only two of the photos are of the 1961 Display - the one with the T-33,etc. and the Lightning. The F-100 was 56-3319 (FW-319) also of 48 TFW 492nd. FS Lakenheath and the Valiant was WP211.The T-33 belonged to 48 Operations Sqn, Lakenheath and also appeared at the following year's BoB display at Acklington.
Better late than never!

You may well be right Sycamore but I had it down as 1 FTS, Linton. Does anyone recognise the badge on the nose on the photo I took that day?

-Yes, it must be. I can't make out much detail on the photo but it definitely isn't the White Rose of 1 FTS.
Cheers,
Jim
