OneEighthBit, that's a beauty! Very atmospheric.

Was it a commission and has it ever been released as a print?

Are you planning to paint any more aviation art? You obviously have a talent there

        Thanks for the comments.

Not it wasn't commissioned and was more of a "sketch" I did over a couple of evenings. It was done at postcard size so it won't scale up very well but I will admit it does look very nice when printed out on a proper dye-sub photo printer.

I paint/sketch very rarely but I may have to do more soon. The rather high reproduction fees the IWM want for photos means I'll have to draw all the illustrations for a book rather than use original photos.

I flattered that so many people liked my glider picture and a little overwhelmed at the same time!

As I mentioned previously, it's not a big drawing as it was really more of a small sketch I did over a couple of evenings. The original is only about 10cm x 15cm so it's not something you could put on the wall and frame and it's doesn't enlarge very well.

A while back I had a couple of postcard size prints run out for friends on a dye-sublimation printer which gave fantastic results and a wonderful glossy print. If theres interest I could get another small run printed out if people would like a copy but as I said, it would only be a postcard sized gloss print.

Paul, you really should quit cutting the grass and chopping trees completely

                              Hi guys
Been busy painting of late, thought you might be interested in the results.
It's called "The loneliness of the long distance flyer" and is of course the Mew Gull of Alex Henshaw.
Hope you like it, I'm a bit chuffed to say the least

                              Cheers

That looks superb, Paul! Sunsets can be tricky ot pull off succesfully and you've produced a stunner there. I love the backdrop but the plane looks equally great!
