Doesn't compare with some of the other work here, but here's a piece of my handiwork (with help from a few others!). A favourite scheme of mine!

Thought I would add my latest to this thread, based on a passage from "Vulcan 607" involving the arrival of two vulcans to the RED FLAG excercises in 1982.

Very nice way of presenting a profile, Paul! The Vulcan painting is great too, but be careful with posting such high-res pictures online without marking them with a copyright logo. Before you know it, it ends up in a book or magazine without any credits, let alone payments. I've had that happen to my stuff over a dozen times...

I wish it wasn't necessary, but it does sting when you see months of hard work being abused.
In a more recent case a neo-nazi(!) organisation used my Luftwaffe '46 visualisations for a publication of theirs. Apparently they even gave me credit, although I wish they hadn't as I don't want to have anything to do with these folks!

To all you budding & professional artists out-there,I went to a members open meeting on Saturday and put forward the proposal for an art exhibition at Aeroventure which has now gone to commitee.I will keep those of you who may be interested informed & if the project progresses to a reality I will put out the invites.Meanwhile keep the work coming-it has even inspired me to put paint to canvas for the first time in donkeys years.

Thought I would share something I've been working on for some time now, was a bit of a challenge but there is light at the end of the tunnel now.

I haven't been able to do much aviation art of late due to an excessive amount of portrait drawings I've had to do for people for some festive thing thats going on in a few days but am half way through a Vulcan drawing of 558 and have also have on the go a drawing of the MATS Connie and a Buccaneer, so once the xmas period is gone I can continue these pictures and will post the finished results on here.

From what I can see though at the minute, the amount of outstanding stuff on here is enough to keep us going.

                        Great stuff guys

Great to see so many new and high quality aviation art pieces from the various artists here.

For a genre that's supposedly "in decline" or "stagnation", I see absolutely no let up in the interest in aviation art either here on this board or at the aviation art community at eHangar.com.

                          Long may this continue!

My only worry is that most people who posted here are artists, rather than collectors/enthusiasts

I totally sympathise with you their Raider but without us artists, you wouldn't have anything to collect or be enthusiastic about would you my friend

                              Merry Christmas to you too.

Nothing to worry about - there are plenty of styles, mediums and subjects to go around. Have you seen the galleries of the Guild of Aviation Artists? - and they are just hand applied media!

e-hangar is good, but alot of the big names don't go there (or rather don't post there). There is no shortage of buyers either. There will always be someone who once worked on an aircraft and want a picture of it. Private commissions are generally not publicised by the artist, and yet contribute to the majority of his sales. Its a big market, and appears to be expanding!

I thought it would generate a bit of interest, but even I am amazed by the response to this thread-If it wasn't for you showing your initial drawings the thread may not have started.

                                        Please keep 'em coming.
