      Hi All,
Trumper - I just love aviation art and post what stands out to me whether famous, less well-known or amateur. There has been some really good work that has been produced in the last 20 odd years in particular.

Keith Woodcock is still going strong and still enters the GAVA exhibition each year, he just mailed me and has something special and unusual for 2019 so I await with anticipation. I have a small original of his (Below top image) and have a Remarqued print of his DAWN THUNDER original on Ebay for sale a lovely tribute to the Tornado IMHO. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1136809064...m=113680906463 .

      SHORT 184

The aircraft is shown in the early 1914 British marking incorporating the Union Flag. This image was used on the stamp sheets issued by the Isle of Man Post Office to commemorate 100 years of Naval Aviation.

                Hi All,
He's at it again with his Jag's WIP from Michael Rondot, looks like another winner as he is the master when it comes to putting the Jaguar on canvas.....

This from his FB page. http://www.facebook.com/MikeRondot
I have been busy - too busy to post on here but there is progress. A new painting of a Jaguar low level attack sortie is on my drawing board and will soon transfer to my easel. These are preliminary drawings on canvas.

The background is from a photograph I took from the cockpit but I cannot remember where it is. Almost certainly Scottish Highlands but I was not making notes, being quite busy at the time with flying my Jaguar. I know there are sleuths out there who can figure out these things using Google Maps and OS maps so here is a challenge for you: Where is this? A free print will have your name on it if you can figure it out.

                      Hi All,
Nails - I posted a similar video a while back and have seen that one before. I suppose the message at the end is the futility of war and how far it can consume some .

The first post of the ACG was just smashing you have to hand it to all artists in all genres (In this case Digital) they capture realistic images for the most and they were really good IMHO....

                      Geoff.

                            Hi All,
Another WIP update from http://www.facebook.com/MikeRondot/ on his latest creation.....

This new painting of a Jaguar low level bounced simulated attack profile (SAP) sortie is in progress. My studio is still downstairs until we get some warmer weather to allow me back into my attic garret studio so the dining room carpet and curtains are getting a bit of a pasting from my errant brushes.

I did not like the initial drawing so repositioned the second of five jaguars in the composition and will paint over the first one.

                              Hi All,
Now the colour! As always Michaels detailed scenic background brings the Jag's in the foreground to life even at this early stage.............

                              29/03
The new Jaguar painting has paint on it now. I lay it on and scrape it off until I get the effect I want. Later, I can overpaint to correct mistakes. The first person to see this said it made her slightly uncomfortable looking at the skewed horizon and the gaggle of jets. Hmmm, that's good but not good enough; I want it to make the viewer Very uncomfortable when looking at it. Ideally they will reach for a wall to steady themselves.

I have covered the background with paint but will continue to change it until I like it. The bottom left needs to be darker to stop your eye from falling off the picture, the edges need to be less sharp and I don't like the little Jaguar at the far end of the loch, so that will be scraped off and replaced with a different drawing.
The sky is a bit of a flexible feast but it is getting to where I want it. The whole thing looks a bit too comfortable for my liking but I can fix that.Click image for larger version Name:	55916130_10156242608107825_9190489887495684096_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_ht=scontent-lht6-1.xx&oh=e721a5e65762f7c7c28fcfdef4c72af1&oe=5D3FB17B.jpg Views:	0 Size:	104.6 KB ID:	3857727

                                Hi All,
Some more colour, for more new pictures go to:- http://www.facebook.com/MikeRondot ...........

31/03 - Jaguar Bounced SAP painting work in progress.

This will be published as a special limited edition print to celebrate 100 editions since 1980 with Collectair Limited Editions. Keeping with the 100 theme I am thinking of restricting the edition to 100 copies only. It is probably the last Jaguar print I will publish so a few carefully chosen signatories will be invited to sign the prints.

Photos show more work on the small area of sky and a revised drawing of the little Jaguar at the end of the loch. And finally, a repainting of the lower left corner of the picture in a darker tone and less defined edges. It is slow but progress is everything.

01/04 - Some more detail work on the background in progress. I don't like working with small brushes but sometimes it is the only way - these aircraft are only one or two centimetres in size.

                                  Jaguar Bounced SAP Painting.

The fin is critical to the technical accuracy of this painting; it is big and dominant and until the cockpit area is painted it is the first place the eye goes to, so it has to be correct. That is a lengthy process but eventually I will be happy with it. I am not allowed to comment on other people's work but, there are a few recent paintings of an aircraft famous for the size of its fin that would have benefitted from a bit more study of what that fin actually looks like.

Hmmm... Just as I thought I was getting on, with few distractions in my relocated studio, this little chap reappeared and started nest-building in the camera box. It looks like it is the same blue tit from last year with a sleek head patch. The female's head is more mottled but no sign of her yet. We have not had a TV in this house since March 2003, but this is addictive viewing.

There is more progress on the fin and rear end of the Jaguar painting. I will put a page on my website next week so you can order copies of the limited edition print before it goes to press.

                                      Hi All,
A little update from Michaels new work via his Facebook page:- http://www.facebook.com/MikeRondot ....

                                      Jaguar Bounced SAP painting.

This might have looked alright at first glance but it needed a lot of work to correct the errors in the drawing, and after a whole day in the studio it still needs a lot of work.
Among other things.... The curve of the leading edge was wrong but has now been corrected. The leading edge slat has not yet been painted....
The shape and angle of the chisel nose was way out but the probe was correct so I had something to use as a guide.
The roundel is always difficult and very small changes make a big difference.
The cockpit and windscreen are receiving treatment now but I have to leave it to dry off a little or it will all get very muddy and have to be scraped off.
Here are some images that show the progression from "that looks about right" to "that is almost right". It is all about looking hard and carefully at the real aircraft and trusting your judgement..

                                      Geoff.

Already ordered my copy. However my one will be slightly different and Mike and I know why. The painting is a comission for a person that has an interest in Jagaur.

                                          Hi All,
Canopener Al - It's shame it will be his last Jaguar work as he mentioned when first starting the composition. I really like his work and have a number of his Remarques I do though think he has a couple of aircraft missing from his portfolio or rather what I think would make a great addition and they are his shepherding of an SR-71 and I think he would do a lovely B-52 maybe a B58 Hustler ?

I suppose though you could go on forever on what particular aircraft he would make a very good composition and I think that the majority these days are commissions ?

Anyway here is another update on this lovely piece of artwork courtesy of :- http://www.facebook.com/MikeRondot
