This is a poor quality photo of an old and upublished painting of my favourite PR9 (XH169) that I did for my long-suffering navigator to remind him of our happy times together on No.39 Squadron when the primary role was low level tactical reconnaissance.

How the front-seaters in the PR9 ever found the will to go to work has always been a mystery to me. I was then, and I still am full of admiration for them for the job they did in that hellish front cockpit. Being bounced around in low level turbulence in the unforgiving big-wing PR9 was often uncomfortable for the pilot but we could at least see out. All the navigators had were the small Day/Night indicator windows on each side and the periscopic recce viewfinder. The health and safety police would probably declare it an illegal working practice today.

    To this post 01/01/2019.

The first few copies of my new Canberra PR9 print "THE BLACK HOLE" are ready to order. There will be more copies on press later this week but you can secure your copy now. Contact me here on FB by message or order online at Collectair. (Prints available here:- http://tinyurl.com/ybyhkbra )

                      Hi All,
I will never make a bad comment about those of us who dare put whatever to the canvas as I would not be any good. A good painting in a difficult subject, if you are happy with the finished product then that is all that matters.

If you have to be critical about your creation then why not ask an expert ? Keith Woodcock is always happy to give advice in this subject and is easy to contact. keith.woodcock@btinternet.com

This is my first of three drawings I will be submitting at the Guild Annual Exhibition in July. Fingers crossed. All will be pencil and feature training aircraft which have served at RAF Northolt. Views and criticisms will be welcome- I have broad shoulders . Best wishes Scott

You have to admit Keith certainly puts the aircraft in appropriate settings and atmospheres, James Dietz is another master of settings/atmosphere this a new work from him deserves a good reception IMHO.......

I haven't really mentioned this underrated artist much when really I ought to have, Philip E.West has just finished this new work and I really do think Mr West ha created some very outstanding images in particular of iconic British aircraft and really deserves more recognition IMHO..

                                        Hi All,
Mark Postlethwaite has just released a brand new paintingdepicting the often overlooked Short Stirling - Depicting N3721 of 218 (Gold Coast) Squadron, this painting is Mark's first published Stirling painting for over 25 years and will finally fill the gap in his Bomber Command collection. The original painting is now for sale and prints will be published on 15/03. (Available here:- http://www.posart.com/shop/stirling-service ) Personally I love it and agree with his sentiments ................

                                          Hi All,
Yes another one I missed this one that was in the 2018 GAVA exhibition from the very talented Simon Mumford http://simonmumford.co.uk/ This work below features the Banana Bomber and alas is in a private collection so I doubt very much there will be any prints unless the owner gives Simon permission ? But I just love it!

The accompanying note (Below) is quite a good testimonial for the excellent work of art IMHO........

" This painting was inspired by a story told to me by a Phantom pilot who said the only aircraft he couldnt catch was a Buccaneer down low. This really brought home what an amazing aircraft this was, and why they were so admired by those who flew and maintained them. "

Also in connection is this WIP:-http://simonmumford.co.uk/work-in-progress
