    One I finished earlier

    Hi guys
Although I only recently got back in the saddle I did do one commission in my time off so here it is, actually despite not really being very enthusiastic at the time I'm rather happy with it

    Cheers

thanks Trumper, was in a bad place personally and really not in the mood for painting hence the lack of output in the last few years

A couple of years ago my sister started doing aviation art... and I think she's starting to get rather good.

Here's a few of the ones done recently:

                Nice work.
I love general aviation subjects, a nice break from the usual warbirds.

                  Thanks,J Boyle....general aviation is my passion,rather than fast,pointy,war planes.

I think you may have witnessed the beginnings... she had a few of her first attempts with her in the cafe on the last Coventry night run event.

Just finished this one in time for the anniversary. I had never painted the Eder attack before so it was nice to try something different. The basics are that it shows Henry Maudslay's crew diving past Waldeck Castle during the very difficult approach to attack the Eder, which can be seen in the distance. They were one of the eight crews that failed to return, shot down by anti-aircraft fire on the way home.

That's excellent. I really like the light and texture - it conjures the essence of that night only too vividly.

When I retired last year I thought with the free time I had I'll be able to get back to sitting behind my drawing board and scribbling away with my pens and pencils. Hasn't worked so far as this photography stuff at Duxford keeps getting in the way. I even carry a sketch pad and scribbling sticks in my camera bag, to improve my freehand drawing, but haven't used them yet. Must do better.
