Looking good, it could be my monitor but the green/grey on XS904 looks a little too close together compared to the original and there are a few other details that seem absent or ever so slightly out.

I've got some good hi res shots if you want them.
Push enough pixels around and it'll look like an aeroplane profile.

                Thanks for your comments.
At his size, some of the details do not appear, but they are there: I spendt a lot of time making all the fuselage details. I am sorry for not been able to post larger images of it (piracy concerns oblige).
                Thanks again for your interest.

                    Thank you.
They were a bit complicated to do (shape of the plane and lots of fuselage details) but it was a rewarding learning experience.

                      TSR2: Hell-For-Leather!

Here's one of my latest works:

                      Hell-For-Leather

After their nuclear attack against a Soviet industrial target, the crew of this TSR2 dive back to the relative safety of supersonic low-level flight. With the bombers cover now broken, a Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft gun is the first enemy unit to respond. As they speed away from the target, hopes are high for a safe return to their forward air base in West Germany... if it is still there. This is the doomsday scenario that could have unfolded, had the Cold War turned hot and had the TSR2 not been cancelled in 1965.

This image was created for Damien Burke's superlative book TSR2, Britain's Lost Bomber, published by Crowood. If you have any interest in the TSR2 at all, this is the one book to get. Freshly researched, it debunks all the misinformation and myths that surrounds it and adds lots of new insight, information and fantastic technical detail that has been hidden in archives for over four decades. An absolute must for anyone interested in Cold War aviation. More information about this book can be found on http://www.tsr2.info

Prints of the cover art are available through my web store at http://www.digitalaviationart.com

                      Merry Christmas everyone!

                      Ronnie

Hope you guys don't mind me posting a couple of pictures here. These are screenshots taken from a flight sim (IL-2) where I have replaced the background in game with a green screen and then proceeded to place the aircraft onto either a photograph or a background drawn in photoshop. Simple but effective:

Not as hard to do as some of the stuff I've seen here but just as fun

Just to show I am still working here is the sketch of something I am just getting some paint on, it depicts the now retired Police Air Unit islander which until recently operated from HMS deadalus covering the hampshire area, the other two are the previous aircraft used by the unit, comments are as always welcome

                                  Cheers

I used to fly il2 and now it's been modded some of the screen shots are a work of art in themselves. To use your imagination to create something from that is a great idea.
Paul good to see you back at it again,i know it's only a sketch but i had to look quite hard to see the other aircraft just behind the wing of the main subject.
I assume the police use mostly helicopters now.
                                    Cheers

I love your composition Paul. Very dynamic and I think the slanted horizon line works very well. I hope you will be getting prints made of the finished picture as I bet there will be a call for them from all the ex aircrew of the unit.

I'm still amazed that Hampshire Police have decided to drop all Air Support!

Thanks Steve, it is in fact a commission from the crew so now worries there, the air support has been farmed out to the helicopters belonging to two neighbouring counties stretching the resource even further and costing more to run

                                          Mosquito memorial charity auction

Just been sent an e-mail about this so I thought I would share it with the like minded people here.

A painting of Mosquito NF MkX111 MM550 has been painted by top comics artist John Higgins to raise money for charity.

John's picture will be auctioned locally at a fund raising event on 19th February 2011 to raise money for the development and up keep of the Chaucer Memorial in Rustington in West Sussex.

Any bids before this date for this painting would be most welcome: the highest pre-auction bid so far is 100.

"It's just a casual email auction up to the actual live auction on the 19th February," John told downthetubes. "Whoever wants to bid on it can just email me with a bid above 100.

"I will reply to each email giving a weekly up date on the bids to the 19th when we would have the highest 10 read out after the live auction. I want to at least see if we can get a bit of internet interest."

The money would be used to maintain the memorial in remembrance of all who died in World War 2 but specifically for this incidence when a small rural village experienced the impact of war at first hand and five people were killed

The Full story as well as a picture of the painting can be found here.
