Oh dear, this looks ominous!!The mounds are encroaching on the VC-10 and the One-Eleven has been 'speyed'!!

Lets hope the 1-11 wings can be refitted easily!!!

No such thing as refitted easily in terms of something that has been cut ! It would have been easier to find a 1-11 which was due to be retired and flown her in to East Fortune.

Talking about 1-11s. Inside the new cold war hangar monstrosity is the F1-11 preserved by the RAF Museum.

Strange that an aircraft which was turned down by the RAF should be mollycoddled in a heated dehumidified hangar whilst classic British successes are being broken up outside.

              Makes you proud dunit.

Ironic, yet irrelevant in this context. You might well ask why a Mercedes dealer doesn't have any interest in old MGs or suchlike.

Also although East Fortune has a runway it does not belong to the museum and no doubt the Health and safety implication means that a lorry is a better way of delivery!

Nice to see that BA still think highly of their collection and museum
I don't want to die, because I don't want to end up like Anita Dobson - Frank Sidebottom, actually.
                      Thank you

Latest pics from Cosford (taken last weekend) Any one heard where any part of the VC10 is going if at all anywhere?

Nice surprise was to see the Pioneer back though. Another thaought, havent Cosford got a thunderflash/thunderstreak stored somewhere on base and wasnt that part of the cold war? So why isnt it in the new hanger?

The RAFM has never had the F-84-F on display and when it was donated to the British people c/o the Historic Aircraft Museum at Southend as was it's a great shame. There is an interest from a U.K museum in getting her on display indoors which I hope happens.
I find it fairy ironic that the new building showcases the Cold War but I dout any of our NATO partners aircraft will be on display despite their efforts .

Isn't there an F111 in the building which represents the USAF contribution
