excellent guess....its a T24, off a Lancaster, but ideal for me as it is XX series.

T24? Isn't that actually an early civil one, as fitted to a Lancastrian, etc? Or do you know it was on a Lancaster?

Or alternatively, have I just got my wires crossed, and all Merlin 24s are actually T24s, and it's just most people leave off the T's?
