The OAHC was closed for a few weeks while some the displays were changed. The Avro Anson Mk.I is now available for Part 115 flights (joining the Yak-3 and Stearman), and is no longer on display. It has been replaced with a Guadalcanal 'crash' diorama of Hudson NZ2049, and a Nood 1002 (Bf-108) added. Note that the WW2 'Dangerous Skies section is NOT open during and just before the bi-annual Classic Fighters airshow, as the Yak-3M, FW-190/n and Spitfire XIV are a bit busy!
I hope to visit sometime in the next month, so I can finally see the WW2 displays. Photos from the re-opening event at WONZ.

Great Hudson diorama, great way to preserve and display it in original condition. Great to see the FlugWerke 190 back up on her legs again too.

Thanks for sharing the link.

Thanks Errol, brilliant shot! Hadn't realised she was flying again.

Can I suggest that the above link be sent to the RAFM, to show how to display aircraft in a dynamic and interesting way, rather than the sterile way that seems to be the UK way!

I'm sure it helps that design and installation was by Weta Workshops!
I know the NZ Army could do with listening to the advice from film-makers when it comes to design of on-field displays at re-enactment events etc. The historic re-enactors listened, much to everyone's benefit.

I don't know how long the Spitfire Mk.XIV NH799 ZK-XIV has had a large packing crate behind it, but lets not go there! Flies during the biannual airshow, and not such if at all otherwise?

A lovely ex-Netherlands Ryan ZK-ABC, restored over many years by long-time Aussie flight instructor Noel Kruse. With a SS Jaguar of similar design vintage.

A contrasting sport aircraft is this Nood 1002. It's in a Bf 109 scheme, due to its former owner.
