I am guessing this early in 1939 the threat had really yet to come to light but obviously Hitler had been in power a while but did not see Great Britain as an issue a big year again for the RAF with the build up and obviously te sending of aircraft in early 1940 to France

I believe we were already building the radar installations and coastline defences at this point, but as you say, the threat was yet to come to light. I think maybe at this point, the RAF sent aircraft to Belgium? Forgive me, my history is shaky.

Belgium was neutral until invaded. Our plan was to advance into Belgium when/if they were attacked.
