Yes, a bit undesirable posting a picture like that without confirming the outcome isn't it? Were pilot and passenger okay?

He got it gathered up & parked ok. Apparently not the first rodeo as there is video of a similar landing at Dunsfold. Comments by the commentator are comedy gold under the circumstances.

If anybody ever tells you anything about an aeroplane which is so bloody complicated you can't understand it, take it from me: It's all balls. RJM.

Video here, not quite as 'ballsy' as today's excursion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeNqhumPKS0

The Battle of Britain airshow is 2 weeks away, I see the participant list has been updated this week including a very healthy number of Spitfires. Nice to see Mk.VIII D-FEUR making the journey. But I noticed it's very lite on Hurricane numbers as was Legends, is there a reason for this? Or are there still aircraft to be confirmed?

Told today it occured at Le Touguet, by a pilot ' on the warbird scene' so may well be true.

Any idea if "White 5" is still at Duxford? Was due at Cosby and/or Melun this weekend.

Corrective aileron hard to put in with one aileron lodged into the concrete of the runway with the weight of the aircraft on it...

                        Duxford Tuesday 10th September 2019.

Getting back to the happenings at Duxford, this immaculate 1931 built Puss Moth was out on the airfield for compass swings today:

Wow, if that Puss Moth was any more gorgeous, I'd be trying to get into its drawers!

Quite so but I'd be trying for a threesome with that and Peter Vacher's Leopard Moth!

Just seen on Facebook that the Casa 2.111 stored at the collection is due to be acquired by the Kent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge!

So I wonder what stock original He-111 will be joining the IWM to replace it then?!

Good. I passed close to it last week (still tucked in next to the Shack) and wondered why it had not received its share of TLC since a film made 50 years ago.

It arrived from Spain in the late 1990s. It hasn’t been there for 50 years.

Nothing I would imagine! They only ended up with by default as it was OFMC's at first but it was too far gone to be made airworthy and so passed on to the museum
