    Bentwaters Jaguar roars and prowls.

After almost 9 years of work to restore her, The Bentwaters Cold War Museum have got their SEPECAT Jaguar GR1A XX741 to run both her Adours to Max Reheat and to taxi for the frist time since she was placed into storage at Shawbury in 1994. To say yesterday was a brilliant day was an understatement.

What a thrill it must of been to hear and see a long dormant Cold War airfield come alive again to the sight and sound of a Jaguar on the prowl.

            Top work guys!

Any publicly accessible events / dates for watching the engine runs ?

An Anti Det run combined with leak checks and system functional tests of the faults we had in December.

Alas, not yet. We have a bit of work to do on painting and fitting of pylons, tidy up paintwork and for fast running, sorting out a set of wheels with good bearings and tyre. All of this takes time and people. And good weather for the paint to be applied and dry! We do need to do events in 2019 to pay the bills to keep her moving.

Great to see and hear! Always had a soft spot for the Jag - pretty jet, almost as easy on the eye as that other Anglo-French project, Concorde...

Have to remember it's 'front line' role in Cold War RAFG with WE177s tucked underneath....
Under my gruff exterior lies an even gruffer interior...

The last anti det run in April. Set up of the stbd FCU idle post last run was a bit high, causing issues on start up of No 2. Tempremental RR FCUs.

Lovely. Are there any Jags still flying in Europe these days? Just asking as I took my lad to the Mach loop after he completed his GCSEs a few weeks ago. Something went over high up at the limit of what I could see in the binoculars. It looked a Jaguar like configuration from below/behind. I was a bit baffled by that.
It's the one you don't see that gets you (usually)...

Only Jagaurs flying are in India. They did transit a Sqn of their Jags to the USA for an exercise via Europe a couple of years ago but went via France and the island hopping to the States.
