The wreck of an airplane found on the beach in Stegna. Its mining continues. As the researchers say, it is most likely a German machine from World War II.
Researchers searching the Baltic beach managed to locate a plane wreck on Friday.

- A magnetometric test showed an anomaly at this point. Then we used metal detectors to try to determine the size of the equipment located underground - explains Mateusz Deling from the Museum of Military Technology and History of Pomerania in Kłanin.

The found machine is most probably a German airframe with aluminum construction from World War II. "We do not know yet what part of the plane is underground. We estimate that we will be able to extract two wings and a beak. Probably there is no tail of the plane - says Mateusz Deling.

"YOU WILL NOT COMPLETE ON THE AIR-TAKE"

Intensive work with the use of excavators and water pumps is watched by the residents of Stegna and tourists. They watch with interest the small fragments of the plane drawn from the dug hole. - There may still be a lot of surprises on this beach. For sure on this one plane will not end - they tell our reporter.

Researchers want to first determine the size of the wreck discovered on Friday and only on Saturday try to bring it to the surface. They also promise to check the beach in Stegna in search of more wrecks.
