What is it?

Where - to the country?

When - to the decade?

If not identified (or guessed) within 24 hours the photo will grow daily.

'Eddie' is far too smart for this and is banned.

All 'Marks' welcome from day one.

No gun fairings or gun access panels, so a PR aeroplane. I would guess PA908 or PM627. It looks as if it has the slightly shorter span ailerons, so I am going for PM627.

Dunno where though!

I'm not going to win this! However there's no pump fairing at the root either, so not late mark PR...

But let's not forget that Historic Aviation (and Mark12's collection) is the home of non standard Spitfires... ;)

If Bruce is right then it would be India methinks, around the early 70's

Probably way off ;)

Well,if it's not a fighter Mk and it's not a Pr Mk,my guess would be an unarmed T.IX dual control trainer.Seeing as it's in an overall pale colour,I'll take a wild stab at it being on the Irish Air Corps machines in the mid-late 60's.
Location? Not the foggiest, but i'll take a stab at Baldonnel as it's a an airfield I know the Irish flew Spits from.
Close???Thought not...:)

Stab In The Dark Qty 1

The Larry Bennett(sp?) Spitfire that was restored in the 1970s/80s, pictured in a South African junkyard before restoration.
Just a hunch.

Mark 12, is it the IWM Mark 24 VN485 mixed with a bit of photoshop for good measure.

Location Duxford UK, 2004

Two day enlargement. Better make that 24 hours.

Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear.

Just two posters got one of the three elements correct.

Even 'Eddie' thought it was easy.

A clue - it is post Battle of Britain film.

A bit more of the image then.

Strictly no photoshop or PSP

Does that spar look a bit suspect? Is it one of the mock-ups?

Mark 12,

Would the location be RAF Hendon 69-70.

The aircraft is a replica built for the Battle of Britain film.

Gentlemen three.

Not a replica or mock-up.

Well if I'm allowed a second guess,I'll stick with my previous suggestion of a T.IX,but change the location to India in the 1970's.ML417 perhaps??
