I think that she has been reprieved for the time being but as per the MOD, they are very unpredictable I the sense that they won't think anything of replacing a venerable Victor with a two-bob Tornado!!!!!!!!!

Her days are indeed numbered - I guess as soon as a suitable Tornado becomes available they will try and oust the Victor.

I had the priveledge to work on this aircraft in particular during my RAF career and can vividly remember robbing her for spares, whilst she was on gate guardian duties, to service the rest of the fleet when I was doing major servicings on the Victors at Marham

Wasn't she retired due to a serious pressurisation failure???

LAST EDITED ON 10-05-01 AT 11:36 PM (GMT)[p]Hi Folks Just picked up the latest Flypast and read a small article regarding the Victor Gate Guardian at RAF Marham. Aparrently she is due to be replaced with a toronado? Does this mean that she(XH673) is soon to meet a scrappers end??
