As I understand it the rest of the aircraft was scrapped at the time when the nose was saved.I can't imagine that the rest of the 'beheaded' aircraft would have been preserved.

I guessed the rest of the plane got the chop when the nose was saved, but WHEN was the nose saved? At what point was it still a complete aircraft, where was it, who took the decision to save part of it? Someone most know!

Does anyone know for sure what really happened to the rest of Lancaster DV372, the nose of which is now at IWM Lambeth? Nobody seems to know what became of it!
