Good Morning

A friend sent me a photograph of a headstone in a North Yorkshire graveyard, and I have managed to find some info regarding the person buried there, Capt Sharples, as follows;

"Born 6th Sept 1898, son of the Rev. H. M. Sharples, of Finghall Rectory, Constable Burton, and Mrs. Henrietta M. Sharples, Exeter House, Leyburn. Oxford 1916. Royal Flying Corps 2nd Lieut 9th Sept 1916; F.O. 20th March 1917; Capt (Flt Cmdr) 16th Aug 1917. General list RFC 22.03.1917, 64 sqn RFC 9th April 1917, then 11 sqn RFC 26th October 1917. Killed as a result of aero accident. Inquest at Bromley 21st January 1918 returned a verdict of death by misadventure."

I haven't found any details of the incident in which he lost his life. I'd appreciate it if anybody has the information

Thanks

Ian
