-On Facebook it has been stated that it was 16 years since the French-based F4U-5 had last flown, and it has taken 10 years of work to get it to this point. Of course this comes just ahead of the La Ferte-Alais airshow next weekend as well (May 19th and 20th).
With F-AZEG now flying, the total number of currently flyable/active Corsairs in the world stands at 29 (with quite a number more under restoration to fly):

2 FG-1D (N700G) - Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum
3 FG-1D (N773RD) - Mid America Flight Museum

-Wonder if there is any particular reason why all the airworthy -1 Corsairs are Goodyear built airframes?

Might be the same reason that most of the surviving B-17s were built at the same factory as well. Corrosion protection?

Many of the 1945 Goodyear-built airframes didn't see wartime service. It would be interesting to map the airworthy FG-1Ds to their production dates.
